CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A South Carolina community college may lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct funding as Chesterfield County leaders are set to vote on a budget Wednesday.
Council members tell Queen City News they have lost confidence in Northeastern Technical College’s ability to properly spend public dollars following a scathing report from the state inspector general released in late 2024.
That report came after a whistleblower alleged mismanagement and wrongdoing at the college. That complaint raised issues with the school’s dual enrollment program, which allowed high school students to take college courses.
