The Little Rock Board of Directors on Tuesday voted down a plan to grant a $6 million short-term loan to help the city’s public housing authority avoid foreclosure on part of an apartment complex the authority oversees.

Located at 1504 Madison St., Madison Heights is managed by the Metropolitan Housing Alliance, the public housing authority for the city of Little Rock. The complex contains a mix of federally subsidized and market-rate units. The housing development consists of three properties, two of which are set to foreclose on Aug. 1 .
