MIAMI — The music in the Colorado Rockies clubhouse Tuesday night rivaled the nightclubs up and down South Beach.
The vibes were immaculate after Colorado posted a 3-2 win, its second victory in two nights in Miami. More important, it was a victory that secured the first series win of the season for the Rockies and snapped a streak of 22 straight series without a win, a dubious Major League Baseball record the Rockies were eager to cast into Biscayne Bay.
While there were no champagne or cigars to celebrate the victory amid an 11-50 record, there was a definite sense a monkey the size of south Florida had been lifted off the franchise’s back by capturing the series.
There was also a sense that perhaps things are starting to turn a bit for the Rockies.
“This establishes that we are tren
