CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mecklenburg County officials are speaking out after an unusual disruption during Tuesday night’s Board of County Commissioners meeting . According to county leaders, an individual released bugs into the meeting room, prompting their removal from the premises shortly afterward.

In a statement issued following the incident, the county condemned the behavior and emphasized the importance of maintaining order during public meetings.
