ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials are seeking charges after a series of fights at Silver Beach County Park in St. Joseph Tuesday night, according to deputies.
Berrien County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to a disturbance at the beach around 8:30 p.m. and requested backup from its patrol division and St. Joseph’s Department of Public Safety.
Additional fights broke out nearby, according to the sheriff's office, prompting deputies to deploy pepper spray.
Shortly after, the shift lieutenant decided to close the park for the rest of the night.
Three adults were cited with misdemeanors of disturbing the peace, and a warrant is out for a person who was an instigator in the first fight, according to deputies.
