These are not good times for the gastropub Bobcat Bonnie's, which at one time operated seven locations in the state. Last week, the owner closed its Ferndale location, leaving only the Lansing spot open.
Now comes this news: The Lansing State Journal reports that the owner, Matt Buskard, owes more than $1.3 million in tax liens in Oakland County, all assessed over the past 18 months.
Additionally, the Journal reports:
A week after the owners posted on social media that they were seeking a financial partner to “stabilize operations" in Lansing, several former employees told the State Journal they were paid with bad checks or faced problems getting paid.
Buskard did not respond to the Lansing State Journal ’s request for comment.
