BALTIMORE —

The Baltimore Orioles have won seven out of their last nine games and have looked like the team many believed they could be before the season.

Most of the recent success can be traced back to the turnaround of the starting pitching staff. They have gone from one of the worst units in the league to one of the best over the past week.

A couple of players returned from injuries and provided a boost to the rotation and the lineup, but they are still at the bottom of the American League with a 23-36 record. It would require a historic turnaround as they sit 14 games out of first but only nine games out of a Wild Card spot.
