EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An 18-year-old is now charged with several crimes in Evansville after a theft from a vehicle.

An officer was at the Thorntons on East Morgan Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when they said they noticed 18-year-old Donnovan Johnson acting suspicious.

EPD says employees told the officer that Johnson was causing a disturbance.

Officers say they learned Johnson had tried to use someone else's ID to buy alcohol, but was denied and told to leave by the clerk.

When police searched Johnson, they say they found two knives on him, in addition to a wallet that was stolen from someone's vehicle the night before.
