Goddess, a mythical love story inspired by Ethiopian folklore, is expanding the narrative of African experiences on stage and showcasing a vibrant new angle of Africa’s rich storytelling culture.
The musical draws inspiration from the tale of Marimba, the goddess credited with inventing music. Cursed by her mother, the goddess of evil, she is prevented from experiencing love. But her melodic voice entrances a young musician inside a Kenyan nightclub, which changes the course of her eternal journey.
