Greenwich Land Trust (GLT), in partnership with Greenwich Audubon Center and the Town of Greenwich, announces that a corridor of open space along the Byram River in northwest Greenwich (see map) has been designated a state-recognized greenway via unanimous approval by the Connecticut Greenways Council and CT Department of Energy & Environmental Protection at their April meeting.

Greenway designation is an important distinction as it protects the ecological integrity of the area and promotes environmental stewardship and protection. Through the development of a new trail network, this partnership aims to provide enhanced outdoor recreational opportunities while protecting the conservation value of this important stretch of open space.
