LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) - Lubbock ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Gerardo Arzaga as the new head coach of the Lubbock High School girls basketball team.

Coach Arzaga brings a strong background in both academics and athletics, along with a passion for mentoring student-athletes. He joins Lubbock High from Frenship ISD, where he served as a mathematics teacher and assistant coach for girls basketball and track. During his tenure, the programs earned district, bi-district, and area championships, along with regional qualifications.

A graduate of Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Arzaga also played collegiate baseball at both LCU and Cochise Community College. He is bilingual, CDL-certified, and holds a secondary math teaching certificatio
