NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A drop box at the North Augusta post office appeared to have been pried open, the latest evidence of the growing crime of mail theft .

Witnesses reported the latest incident, the second one at the post office in recent months.

In December, a man was arrested after North Augusta officers chased him into Georgia after a witness said a car pulled up behind a drop box in the 1400 block of Georgia Avenue, loaded mail into the back of his car and drove off.
