DES MOINES, Iowa —

Des Moines police on Wednesday asked for the public's help finding a suspect with active warrants for violent domestic assault. They arrested him Friday.

Duvalmetrise Brown, 51, is the police department's latest "Wanted Wednesday" suspect to be arrested. He was wanted for an assault that police say occurred at a residence in the Mondamin Presidential Neighborhood.

Police say the victim in the assault sustained multiple fractured vertebrae and a fractured rib.

In a news release Friday, DMPD officials say a caller reported to police that Brown was at a business near E. 25th St & Hubbell Ave.

"(Six) minutes later, responding officers had Brown in custody," the release said.

Brown has been charged with willful injury causing serious injury and domestic abuse assault
