AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Church of Latter-Day Saints donated more than 1,000 pounds of butter and cheese to the High Plains Food Bank (HPFB) today.
The church dropped off the truckload of butter and cheese this morning.
The church says they want to help nourish our 14,000 households in need across the Panhandle.
The food bank says this donation comes at a time when students aren’t in school and may not have access to daily meals.
“School is also out and kids you know, a lot of kids don’t have access to free reduced lunches that they may have had before,” said Zack Wilson, executive director for HPFB. “It was a staple for them throughout the school year and now it’s not.”
