CHICO, Calif. - The Chico City Council is inviting residents to apply for a volunteer position on the Climate Action Commission.
City officials say this opportunity arose due to an unscheduled vacancy on the commission, with the term ending in January 2029.
Applicants must be Chico residents and qualified voters aged 18 or older.
The commission is responsible for preparing and recommending the long-term climate action plan. They also monitor and update the plan to measure greenhouse gas emission reductions and community benefits.
Meetings are held as needed on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber Building on Main Street.
Applications, along with a supplemental questionnaire, are due by 5 p.m. on June 20, 2025. They can be submitted via email or in person
