CHICAGO -- The Detroit Tigers have lost a pitcher on waivers to the Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox claimed right-hander Ryan Cusick on Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.

Cusick, 25, was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Monday when outfielder Parker Meadows was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. The Tigers had claimed Cusick from the Athletics only three days earlier.

Cusick made only one appearance for Triple-A Toledo during his brief tenure in the Tigers organization.

Cusick was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the first round (24th overall) out of Wake Forest University in 2021. He was traded to the Athletics in the Matt Olson deal less than a year later.
