SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – Lil Wayne is kicking off the debut of his anticipated new album on Friday with a summer tour.

It's been about seven years since "Tha Carter V" was released, and Wayne will be performing at Madison Square Garden on Friday to start his summer tour, the day his new album "Tha Carter VI" drops, Lil Wayne announced Tuesday.
