A member of the Jacksonville Daily Record editing staff is stepping down, prompting changes in newsroom management and expansion of the news team.
Effective June 30, Assistant Editor David Crumpler will retire after 44 years as an editor and reporter in Northeast Florida.
Crumpler joined the staff of the Daily Record in 2022 after more than four decades at the Florida Times-Union, where he served as a general assignment news reporter, features writer, movie critic and copy editor.
His career highlights range from interviewing and writing stories about A-list celebrities like Harrison Ford to editing stories for presidential elections, Oscar night, the Super Bowl and hurricanes. He also wrote about Top Entrepreneurs, small businesses and more.
