New information, that a doddering doctor was prescribing mind-altering drugs to a Charlottesville socialite who later pleaded guilty to child sex crimes, has prompted a reevaluation of the case on the eve of her sentencing in federal court.
Eleanor Hunton Hoppe, the 47-year-old scion of a prominent Richmond legal family and the ex-wife of a federal judge in Charlottesville, pleaded guilty last year to one count of distributing child pornography.
