A 10-year-old girl was on a call on the Snapchat social media platform when she and her older sister were fatally stabbed by her brother last week in Streamwood, Cook County prosecutors alleged Wednesday.

Jalonie Jenkins, 25, is charged with murder in the slayings of Janiya Jenkins, 21, and Eyani Jones, 10, in their home in the 1600 block of McKool Avenue on May 28. Police sought him for several days before he was arrested Sunday in Downers Grove.

Prosecutors revealed new details about the killings in a petition to detain filed in court Wednesday, though Jenkins, who has been hospitalized, did not appear. He is scheduled for another court date Friday, but a judge has meanwhile ordered him detained.
