A 19-year-old man is facing multiple charges for fleeing a traffic stop after state police allegedly clocked him driving over 130 mph on Interstate 91 in Cromwell on Wednesday morning.

A trooper assigned to Troop H in Hartford was conducting motor vehicle enforcement around 8:54 a.m. on I-91 south in the area of Exit 22 when they allegedly observed a Mercedes-Benz E300 traveling at a high rate of speed, according to the Connecticut State Police .

The trooper estimated the Mercedes to be in excess of 100 mph, and its speed was later allegedly confirmed to be 132 mph by a speed laser unit, state police said.
