Council members Coleman Young II and Mary Waters
The latest Detroit News-WDIV polls shows Detroit City Council incumbents Mary Waters and Coleman Young II with comfortable leads for their at-large seats, the Detroit News reports. Both were first elected to a four-year term in 2021.
The poll conducted by the Glengariff Group from May 27-29, surveyed of 500 likely Aug. 5 primary voters. They were read 10 candidates' names and asked for their first and second choices.
The poll shows 32 percent percent of the voters supported Waters as their first choice and 18 percent as their second. As for Young, 21 percent picked him for their first choice and 32 percent as their second.
In all, 29.3 percent of voters were undecided as to their first choice and 29.5 percent as to their second choice,
