ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A new study suggests that regular exercise may lower the risk of cancer returning in colon cancer patients after surgery and chemotherapy. While the findings are promising, researchers say more work is needed before drawing definitive conclusions.

“I certainly don't think that we're in a position to say I would definitely not say, don't use those drugs and use exercise. I don't think we're at that place right now where we are, even though this is a fairly historical moment,” said Dr. Karen Mustian, dean’s professor of surgery, cancer control at URMC.
