FOREST PARK, Ga. — Frightening moments unfolded Tuesday evening in Forest Park when gunfire broke out near an area where people were gathered for a high school graduation.
Forest Park Police Chief Brandon Criss said one person was grazed, and another person was shot in the arm in a shooting that occurred near Kiwanis Stadium along South Ave.
Criss said they were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. The two who were hurt, ages 18 and 40, were taken to the hospital.
"There was a celebration of a graduation going on here at this location," the chief said. "And unfortunately, that celebration turned tragic with the two victims being shot."
Police are looking for two suspects, and the chief said they are still reviewing evidence. It's unclear what may have prompted the gunfire.
