LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A new smoke advisory has been issued for eastern Nebraska, and now central Nebraska may also be affected as wildfire smoke from Canada continues to drift into the Midwest.
State environment officials say the air quality may be “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups,” according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) beginning 6 a.m. Thursday until noon Friday.
The cities likely to be impacted include Albion, Beatrice, Columbus, Fairbury, Fremont, Hastings, Grand Island, Kearney, Lexington, Lincoln, Nebraska City, Omaha, Red Cloud, Saint Paul, Seward, Tecumseh and York.
