UPDATE: 5:10 p.m. - The vacant building in Sedalia responsible for a road and walkway closure is set to be demolished.

According to the City of Sedalia a licensed structural engineer's findings indicate a collapse of the building at 207 West Main Street puts attached buildings at risk and would propel debris outward, creating a significant safety hazard.

Barriers blocking the roadway will remain in place.
