CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Covington Catholic High School tennis team won the Kentucky High School Athletic Association state championship that was held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Lexington.
It's the second straight season CovCath won the team title.
The Colonels won their first two matches in the 16-team event on Tuesday, 3-1 over Louisville St. Xavier and then 3-0 over Central Hardin.
In Wednesday's semifinal round they beat North Oldham 3-1, and then won the championship match over Lexington Dunbar, 3-0, by sweeping all three singles matches.
Last week senior Alex Yeager won the individual singles title, while sophomore Blake Hussey and senior Kalei Christensen teamed up to win the doubles championship.
