JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) — The Jackson YMCA renovation project is now complete, providing a new state-of-the-art fitness facility to the local community.
"But it's completely reimagined. And it's hard to even think that it's that same space, but so it has that original, you know, history," said Senior Director of Membership, Engagement, and Healthy Living, Theresa Horne.
The YMCA will host an official ribbon-cutting event on June 26 to celebrate the new space and give a tour of the building to the community.
"What I love about it is that the space is more open to diverse people," said Horne. "A lot of times when you think free weights, you think a certain type of person does that, but everyone needs to do it for health and for strength."
Horne says the project, located at 127 W Wesley St.
