SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Over 80 campers are at the Annual West Texas Rehab Summer Day Camp this week.

Campers' ages range from 3 to 12 years old and are all patients at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Dozens of volunteers are there every day and are helping with all activities.

"We have different volunteers that are out here giving their time, different vendors from throughout the community that are out here giving their time," said Suzanne Click of West Texas Rehabilitation Center. "And so it just all comes together for a great opportunity for these kiddos."

The camp began 45 years ago by the Barnhart family and has been an annual tradition since then.

"This is a camp that they may not normally have an opportunity to go to like a normal kiddo," Click said.
