BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - A traffic stop for a vehicle traveling at high speeds on Highway 70 near Lower Honcut Road led to a foot chase and arrest of a Sacramento man on an outstanding warrant.

According to California Highway Patrol - Oroville, the driver, identified as 20-year-old James Parker, was initially pulled over for speeding. Parker informed the officer he didn't have a valid license.

A record check revealed Parker had a warrant out of Sacramento County for carjacking, aggravated assault, and possessing a stolen car.

When the officer tried to detain him, authorities say that Parker got into a physical altercation with the officer and then ran off into a nearby orchard.
