CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control is asking for help from the community as they are close to being at full capacity and in an emergency situation after more than 50 dogs were seized on Wednesday.

Officials said that officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control were called to help assist Charlotte police on Wednesday, June 4, with seizing dogs that were at a property that police investigated.

Officials said that of they seized 51 dogs from the property.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control said that the owner of these dogs terminated his ownership of the dogs by signing surrender forms.

Animal Care & Control said the dogs were all pit bull breeds and a lot of them were younger dogs and puppies.
