SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - It’s the eve before day one of the SDHSAA softball tournaments. The sport has slotted in nicely with the rest of the spring activities in the state, moving from what was a club sport played in the fall just a few years ago.
In their third year, the tournaments will be split between two cities. Class AA will be here in Sioux Falls, at Bowden Field on the campus of Augustana University, while Classes A and B will remain in Aberdeen at the Players Complex.
As more and more teams field programs to compete for state titles, the tournaments themselves are taking on their own identities.
