MILTON, W.Va (WCHS) — People who live in Milton have dealt with unreliable water for years but now a long term fix may be in the works.
Phase one of the long term project is working with secured funding of more than 7 million dollars to update several issues and phase two will replace valves city wide which equals out to more than two million dollars.
"We have got phase one of the water projects. We're going to go out for the bid hopefully early fall.," Milton water project manager Joe Kessler said. "It's in the engineer's hands and it's a new storage tank out on Kilgore Creek and it's going to have updates to the plant here. There'll be new water lines put in off of James River Turnpike and up through Conner addition, which goes out East Mud River."
