SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The state's investigation into election interference allegations during the Springfield mayoral election in 2023 is regaining traction.

These allegations are against former Springfield city councilor and mayoral candidate Justin Hurst, who recently filed papers to run again for the city council.

It's been well over a year since the Hampden DA handed over a case to the state's Attorney General concerning possible interference during the Springfield mayoral election. Now, investigators have returned to the city, asking questions about what happened in 2023.
