Lenihan honored

CASTLETON — Bonnie Lenihan, assistant principal and director of special services at Slate Valley Unified Union School District, will retire this June after 15 years of service.

In a celebration held May 27, the SVUUSD Special Services team welcomed Pam Reed, president of the Vermont Council of Special Education Administrators, who announced Lenihan as recipient of the 2025 Golden Apple Award presented annually to an individual who demonstrates “exceptional professionalism, innovation and advocacy for students with disabilities.” Recipients are recognized for focusing on student strengths to unlock potential; actively fostering inclusive school communities; building and contributing to collaborative educational teams; demonstrating resourcefulness in addressing
