VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) – The arrest of a transgender asylum seeker by ICE at a Portland courtroom earlier this week has sparked controversy here at home. Protestors demanded answers in Vancouver and Portland on Wednesday over that arrest.

“No hate, no fear, OJM is welcome here. No hate, no fear, OJM is welcome here,” said protestors chanting.

Dozens of protestors took to the streets of Vancouver and Portland on Wednesday. Both protests come on the heels of the arrest of a 24-year-old transgender migrant woman identified as “OJM, " who, according to her attorney, was arrested after her asylum case hearing in Portland.
