Historian and broadcaster David Olusoga , a University of Manchester Professor of Public History, has launched a production company called Hillgate Films.
The company said on Thursday that it would “focus on developing and producing innovative and thought-provoking history-focused documentaries, formats and series, both with, and without, Olusoga as on-screen talent.”
The company launch comes with support from BBC Studios in the form of a development deal that, according to the firm, “will reinforce growth ambitions in return for a first look [at] distribution rights.”
