A zoo in Pakistan had to shut its gates following a tragic incident where a man was found dead after "jumping into" a tiger enclosure, intriguingly leaving the predators toying with his shoes the day after.
The distressing scene unfolded at Bahawalpur's Sherbagh Zoo in Punjab where staff came across the fatal occurrence during their standard cleaning operations. The shocking revelation hit when they spotted a tiger clutching a human shoe in its mouth, hinting at the previous night's gruesome events.
"The zoo is closed right now as we determine how the man got in," remarked Ali Usman Bukhari, a senior figure in Punjab's wildlife department which oversees the zoo, in a statement to AFP.
To date, the deceased has not been identified and no kin have approached the authorities. Post
