A man who allegedly knows the main suspect in the case of Madeleine McCann, Christian Brueckner, has issued a dramatic appeal to police.

Ken Ralphs has claimed officials are searching in the wrong place, stating that an accomplice of Mr Brueckner once reportedly broke down in tears and confessed they had been a part of a plot to abduct a child in Praia de Luz.

He told GB news: "He cried that he needed the money to get out the country with his family and children and that's why he got involved."

Mr Ralphs described the last area Mr Brueckner had stayed at, before Madeleine had disappeared, urging investigation teams to focus there, the Express reported.
