Veteran journalist/author Michael Wolff, now 71, has written seven books over the years, and four of them are about President Donald Trump — the most recent of which, "All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America," was released in late February.
Wolff discussed "All or Nothing" during an early June appearance on The Daily Beast's vodcast. And one of the things he got into was Trump's physical appearance, including his hairstyle.
For decades, Trump's hairstyle has been mocked by comedians. But according to Wolff, Trump's physical appearance worked to his advantage in the 2024 presidential election — and he set out to show a contrast between his appearance and that of former President Joe Biden.

During the interview, Wolff said of Biden, "He looks gray. He's washed-out. You know, his hair is — what's left of it — is gray. The skin is gray. The suits are gray. And Trump would point out, 'Look at him. Nobody even sees him. Everybody notices me.' Which is absolutely true."
Wolff continued, "And side by side, you know, who do you notice? You notice this guy — this appalling-looking guy who is Donald Trump, and not just the relatively normal old man-looking guy that Biden was."
The journalist/author stressed that Trump's appearance is "by design."
Wolff told host Joanna Coles, "He looks that way because he thinks that's an effective way to look."
