The case of Lin Yun Hua, a Chinese national previously convicted of wildlife-related crimes, has officially been transferred to the High Court of Malawi.
This development comes after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) certified the case as a “summary procedure trial,” which qualifies it for handling at the High Court level.
Peter Sambani, Principal Legal and Prosecution Officer at the Anti-Corruption Bureau, clarified that the certification marks a routine legal process where a case is moved from a lower court to a higher one.
“With this certification, the case file will now be sent to the High Court Registrar, who will allocate it to a judge. The judge will then proceed with the case in line with their court schedule,” Sambani explained.
