A Kalispell hunter will serve as northwest Montana’s representative on the state Fish and Wildlife Commission, the governor's office announced last week.

Ian Wargo, a civil engineer and licensed guide from Kalispell, has been appointed to serve on the seven-person board responsible for setting hunting, fishing and trapping regulations in Montana, Gov. Greg Gianforte’s office announced in a May 28 press release. His term expires Jan. 2, 2029.

Because the announcement came after the Legislature adjourned, one month earlier, the governor’s appointment won’t be subject to Senate confirmation.
