Meet the Mets
The Mets took the season series from the Dodgers with a 6-1 victory in Los Angeles. They only had four hits but they made them count, namely Pete Alonso. He went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs to help power the team to the win. He handed Griffin Canning an early 3-0 lead with his first home run and Canning took it from there. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out seven against a formidable lineup. Stanek gave up a solo shot in the ninth but finished off the Dodgers to give the Mets the edge in the season series which could have playoff implications come October.
