WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Twins are piling up wins against the lowly Athletics, but the ballclub suffered a loss after an injury to their staff ace.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo López is expected to be sidelined 8 to 12 weeks because of a strained shoulder. He was officially placed on the Injured List Thursday, retroactive to June 4, with a Grade 2 strain of the teres major muscle in his right shoulder.

The Twins also announced they've recalled starting right-handed pitcher David Festa from the Triple-A St. Paul.

Lopez was the winning pitcher Tuesday night in a 10-3 victory over the Athletics, allowing two runs on four hits in five innings before leaving because of shoulder issues.
