RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB) - The Rapides Library is more than just books and movies.

They have added some new things to check out at all branches.

RPL now has sensory backpacks for kids and blood pressure machines.

For the sensory backpacks, go to the circulation desk, and an adult will complete an in-house checkout.

CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Pediatric Therapy Center donated these backpacks to RPL.

Inside each backpack, you can find a compression vest for calming and grounding, noise-canceling headphones to reduce auditory overload and two fidget tools to focus and relieve stress.
