LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Nonprofits and businesses are teaming up with Lexington Habitat for Humanity to build a needy family their dream home.
Scatterjoy Inc. and Southside Church of Christ will be joined by Publix to begin construction of a brand-new house for a family of six. The partnership was brought together by Habitat for Humanity's goal of building more affordable housing.
Scatterjoy is a Nicholasville-based nonprofit that provides resources to families in need.
Publix hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the house at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5.
