Restaurant chain Hooters abruptly closed more than 30 of its company-owned locations across multiple states on Wednesday, including several in Georgia .

According to USA TODAY , there are four locations that closed on June 4 in the Peach State. Other states with closures include Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

In a statement provided to USA TODAY, Hooters called the closures a “difficult decision” and said it is transitioning to a “pure franchise business model.”

How many Hooters locations are in Georgia?

There are 305 Hooters locations in the U.S., including 151 owned and operated by the company itself and a separate 154 operated by franchisees.
