JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Milestone Contractors, L.P., is scheduled to close a portion of State Road 44 on or after Monday, June 9, to complete a small structure replacement project in Johnson County.

The closure is between South County Roads 575W and 475W, approximately 2.8 miles west of State Road 135.

S.R. 44 is expected to reopen in early July.

During the closure, motorists should use the official INDOT detour route, which follows S.R. 135 to S.R. 252 to I-69 to S.R. 44.

Slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling in or near work zones. The project is weather-dependent. Schedules are subject to change.
