HERNANDO, Miss. — DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton is looking for the public's help after a recent Hernando homicide.
The homicide happened during an altercation at an event, Barton said. It appears the shooter and victim were spending time with the same female, he said.
At 6:51 p.m. May 17, officers of the Hernando Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a physical altercation that led to one person being shot at the Avondale Apartments located in the 900 block of Hill Street.
They found a 41-year-old male victim and began administering life-saving measures to him until he was taken to Baptist DeSoto Hospital.
Edrick Thornton, 49, has been charged with murder. He is being held in jail on a $1 million bond, Barton said.
The passenger, identified as Keshay Jon
