FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- As the weather continues to warm up across the DMV, police in Fairfax County are ensuring that communities stay safe throughout the summer.
On Wednesday, the Fairfax County Police Department announced that it will kick off its 2025 Summer Crime Initiative.
From June until August, police will address seasonal crime trends through a series of strategies. While partnering with the department's Crime Analysis Unit (CAU), officers will focus on a unique area designed to improve community safety and address crime concerns each month.
Police said that during June, the first three waves of the Summer Crime Initiative will focus on enhancing the quality of life for people who call Fairfax County home.
